This is one of my inspirations.
Jasmine Rafael started off singing on youtube but moved on to posting videos of her dance instead. As (only) a fan and nothing else, I'm not sure if I have to right to say that I am proud of her. She started off as a good dancer, but trust me when I say that as you keep watching her videos, she gets better and better and better.
It takes someone really brave and passionate to share with the world their talents. To top it all, they work hard to reach their dream and I believe that Jasmine is the happiest at this point of her life.
Recently, something stopped her from performing. Really, I don't know what happened but I understand how hard it is to have something you love, and something that you worked so hard for, taken away from you.
That's exactly how I felt this week. Like my dream fashion school was no longer an option because my marks weren't high enough. But what was more important to me in the end was that I still want to be doing fashions and I still can do what I love. Definitely not the way I planned it, but it's okay.
Seeing a person chase after their dream and not only achieve it, but also continue to live in it and grow in it. There's nothing better. If she can do it, so can I. And if I can do it, so can you.
This week, I've been going vain and playing dress up to decide what to do for my grad pictures. I know girls who don't wear dresses, but try it. This week, wear a dress. You will be surprised how you feel in one. There's something magical about wearing a dress that always makes a girl feel happy and beautiful. And feeling beautiful is good. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful.
I know in some places it might be cold as it is still (kinda) winter time. So improvise ! Be creative. Wear some stockings or some tall boots. Look around and you will find lots of ideas.
